Slimer

It's been a good a week or so in Vana. Been doing a lot of different stuff and it's been fun.

Seal farming took a bit of a back seat and instead I have been working on Missions. My feed on Guildwork.com makes it look like I have been very busy!

That's not really the case, though. My friends helped me knock out the next ToAU fight and I am now set to fight Gessho, so that's cool. I've also started on MKD and, flaming heck, that stuff is infuriating. I actually thought I was going to have a psychotic episode doing the HELM part. Getting the beastmen items was not so bad once I started fighting the right mobs (you really need the highest level mobs in Giddeus). Still, progress has been made and I am enjoying the cutscenes.

I think maybe we had our expectations a little high for these add-ons. They were clearly meant to be whimsical and entertaining. Well, maybe ACP wasn't... anyhoo.

Also made a start on Shantotto (Shan-tot-toe, right? Not Shan-toe-toe), gear for that is a bit meh but the Atma is hawt. Maybe luke-warm.

Been working very hard on Indra's Staff too. The slimes were a nightmare. I can't lie. With the repop time it was hard to do more than 32 an hour. Since you need 200 that's a pretty big time sink. At that point you're still looking at 3 more trials and 700 kills. Phew.

Still, got that done and on to killing gobbie pets. That's nice and simple but pretty dull. 200 kills goes fast when you are one-shotting and have almost immediate repops.

Then, the penultimate trial (I don't consider buying 15 items a trial): Funguar. I thought this looked like slimes all over again. How wrong could I be? This is probably the most fun trial I have done! Sleep nuking 7 mobs at a time is great! I started last night with 250 kills and today I need about 48 more. It's flown by.

So, only 250 to go and the staff is considerably better than Jupiter's already. Sure I'll get round to that eventually.

Old Skool

I had a pretty retro weekend!

Some friends just started playing again and we spent a lot of the weekend together as a group.

We had big plans to exp on Saturday morning in Abyssea but we got started a bit late. 11am to 2pm Saturday morning is pretty dead EU time; US just gone to bed and JP already well into stuff. And the EU players? All in bed with hangovers.

So, we had to abandon our Abyssea exp plans. I'd managed to get my NIN to 90 on Friday night and was keen to get my DNC to at least 45; I'd been intending to key in Abyssea. Since we were 4/6 we decide that some old school exp in East Ronfaure [S] would be better than nothing. My returning friends all needed to level sub jobs so we quickly found two other people and headed out.

Obviously it helped that I still had an allied ring and an anni ring but we plowed through the levels, easily getting chain 5s. We stayed for about 2 hours and I got 5 levels, which I was pretty pleased with!

Then, even more retro, we went off to the last fight of the Zilart missions. Everyone stops after DM and I just wanted to get it done. The fight didn't go amazingly. We actually wiped the first time (NIN90, DRG88, RDM75, BLM80) due to a failure to CC the surveyor-type mobs, which subsequently pwned through everyone's shadows making the AoEs very dangerous. This left us at extremely low health for the 2nd form. Then, our poison pots wore just as he came back and cast sleepga and that was it.

2nd time went much better. He was totally unable to hit me in his second form and was fairly easily tanked down.

Sunday we hit the old school exp again and headed to Garlaige Citadel to work on subs again. I managed to get my DNC up to 45 (finally), which was a good result!

I also spent some time crafting and got a few levels of this and that, here and there. Was good!

I also got a bunch of merits and capped out NIN Group 1 and Elemental Magic. Not exactly exciting news these days though!

Rank 10

Woooo!

This is actually the very first mission line I have totally completed. Feels good!

Now for CoP and Zilart!
