I forgot to mention that last Sunday a pair of Monster Gaiters auto-sorted to me in Dynamis. We don't have many BST75 in our LS so they were almost immediately offered free to anyone that wanted them. And no-one did. However, in the excitement of a slightly messy pull I forgot to pass and rather than hit the floor they dropped to me.

Before I tried PUP I was VERY keen on BST but I had problems with the low survivability if things went tits up: when you are a Taru you have less chances to recharm your pet than other races ;) I quickly became frustrated with the regular deaths and when I tried PUP I found it so much easier to solo that I never looked back.

However, that was not only before Fields of Valor but also before DNC. Now FOV provides refresh for your WHM sub and DNC obviously provides the usual bonuses. FOV also provides EXP bonuses and "free" reraise. It's a much more solo friendly world out there.

While I'm not the sort of person to level a job JUST because I got some nice gear for it this has bought BST back to the fore in my mind. I always felt like I was defeated by the job and was determined to go back and get it to BST35 so I could access Leave and see if that made it any easier but now I could be tempted to take it further. Maybe not a LOT further but a nice round 40 probably qualifies it for some BCNMs and it's always nice to have the options.
